PRELUDE :

28 Sep
Accessed PVR cinemas website and booked a couple of Endhiran tickets for the second day, phew mission accomplished on the first attempt without fuss.... Only later I came to know it was more of a fortune, as ticket booking had just began in PVR cinemas and I was able to get only the second day show ticket. As expected it was more of online seats reservation opening by IRCTC for trains on the eve of deepavali, Yes the seats filled up pretty soon. Anyways I got what I wanted , and time to set my Gtalk status to show off and frustrate a few of my frnds. Alas, It was not to be as every1 had already grabbed the most coveted day1 tickets and some even, FDFS. Wow this was real frustration !!! Well thats ok, an opening weenkend ticket is just below par to a FDFS ticket...Happy and ofcourse Excited !!!

The Reviews started pouring in one by one , those tweets from Media persons, ---> All these ensured , my productivity in office was brought down to its lowest as I spent my time looking for those authentic snippets of how people felt about the movie...
It was definitely the day before an Exam result where you are constantly being tickled by even the smallest possible news on that and butterflies keep flying up and down within...The HYPE was in place with full force now !!! It was only at this point, honestly I was a bit concerend of how the movie would fare , for never ever has a hyped movie been a blockbuster !!! Come on this wasnt hype, this movie can never be hyped, It was just about matter of growing expectation of millions of people. hmmm why fear when Thalaivar is here in this movie. Back to business now, once again I was just glued to the different websites online , that discussed the movie. There were different Criticisms , even negative reviews before the movie had released , The real verdict was coming the next day so why even bother about all those stomach burning write ups...

Most of the time again flew , discussing about the movie with teammates and other colleagues, who were also in awe by now, after listening to the reviews that were pouring in.
Needless to say how work went about in office. It was the robot talk everywhere. To me it was just about the longest wait I had to overcome, to get into PVR Audi 4.
After reading through several reviews and tweets from different celebrities , felt Game on. I was careful enof not to know anything about the movie though several "Affectionate" friends were chasing me and offered to let me know different instances from the movie.

D Day Oct 2
Cell phone kept ringing , sleepily, pressed the green button only to hear some1 shouting "Endhriaen da , Endhiraren da " I was like wat ? Infact It was some friend who was
shouting "ENdhiri da" (Wake up) at my sleepy, "hmmms". But the word resembling "Endhiran" just got me on my feet and it was just 9 way too early for a weekend. However this is
the D day, did not want to go back to sleep. After answering the call, went online to check yet again news if any on endhiran--- You read it right, "Again" :-D Such was my obsession with the movie. When my friend came at 11 I was already raring to go for the movie. The last time I was up and ready on a weekend in blore was atleast a couple of months back .
Had a good lunch and we started at 12.30. I drove the bike to PVR with my friend on the excellent roads stretching from C V Raman Nagar to Koramangla .

Reached Forum . Till then I had overlooked the rush being totally complacent, for I had the online tickets with me. But there was a huge queue waiting to convert their respective Endhiran onliny booking receipts to tickets. Had to wait there sweating it out for the ticket. A scene reminiscent of the one that comes in Mannan :-D .

We entered the audi b4 every1 else and eased ourselves onto the comfortable seats that were ours, watching the audi all of a sudden turning into a packed house in just seconds.

In the coming hours each one of our Janma was going to attain Dhanya ;-) The 3 yr wait after Sivaji was going to end after all on that cool afternoon in blore.

ENDHIRAN:

The movie started with a different BGM for the title name "Superstar Rajni". Though the BGM for "Superstar Rajni" wasnt that grand or powerful, the name in itself enriches everything associated with that.
The title card followed with Puthiya Manitha in the background, Wat a musician ARR is !! Totally Liked the usage of Puthiya Manitha song tune at various parts of the movie including the orchestration at the end credits. Hats off the mozart from Madras.

OCT 2 , 2 to 5 show

First Half :
The movie has the most silent intros of all Superstar movies. It was after all the CALM before the STORM That was to follow. First half kept on picking up pace, and had scintillating moments, with the Train fight and chitti dance being the highlights. It had hilarious, feel good, awesome moments throughout. No wonder every eye in the hall were just glued on to the screen. Thanks to the Sweet chitti robot :-) Thalaivar has rocked without question, the way he was able to differentiate Chitti and Vaseegaran not only through his looks but also his body language. Amazing screen presence. Ash just loved her on screen. There have been so many Miss.worlds b4 Ash and after Ash but the term "World beauty" can just match her. Only her. Cant really believe, the Mrs.World now is in her late 30s. Songs were well picturized. First half is to be enjoyed.
First half will never be complete without the mention of Sujatha sir. He is one man, who has carried the first half completely on his shoulders with nice and crisp Dialogues.

Infact, Sujatha was definitely missed in certain scenes in the second half. Shankar will surely miss Sujatha sir in his forth coming movies.

Interval , the only time when there were not any rocking things to witness :-(

Second Half :
If the first half of the movie was feel good, making you happy , second half I shud say will leave you Awestruck at the end of the movie. It has the best Action Climax of all Indian movies I have seen on big screen.Thalaivar has yet again rocked with the Chitti upgraded Version 2. Again its not just about different looks, the villainic as he gets is simply adorable. The lovable Chitti now strikes terror :-) However apart from Superstar, the person who is responsible for this is Shankar, His imagination and visualization of all the CG involved is amazing. Second half is not completely without flaws. There is a bit of a drag period after Chitti version1 gets dismantled. Kilimanjaro song when seen alone is great and thalaivar is at his youthful best, Having said that, it definitely sort of reduces the pace of the movie till Chitti V2 takes over and visual effects simply makes us spell bound. These are minor lags that can surely be overlooked.

A definite chance it was for me to Whistle which I grabbed with both fingers ;-)

Here is a Glimpse :

> Thalaivar : Definitely the backbone of the movie, at his best throughout the movie. Not the usal Rajni movie, yet he casts his spell on us through his Aura. Two eyes were not really enof to see numerous Rajnis on Screen. He has definitely portrayed the three characters with an excellent ease that no other person can. The impact left by him as Chitti will stay long. There can be only one Thalaivar one superstar , one Collection Baadshah and all thats our own Rajnikanth.

> Shankar : The next big thing in Endhiran. His imagination and execution of the same will surely make other directors think about this newly laid path. If Rajnikanth is responsible for this movie to become a blockbuster, It is Shankar who is responsible for the movie to become a trendsetter. His hardwork has surely paid off.

> Ash : Gorgeous. Not just that , Her acting skills is just commendable, especially the scene where Chitti V2, lines up robots to identify, Vasigaran who has disguised himself as a robot now. Just watch it again, her expressions are just out of the world. There is no heroine right now, who is as beautiful and who can make a good match to Superstar's Aura on screen, but her.

> Randy : The cinematography was amazing, Had the right elements for this kind of a movie. Perfect lighting and songs shud testify how talented he is.

> Sujatha : What a writer he is , He showed his class with dialogues like " Kadhalichaa nut kazandrumbaanga, idhu robokum porundhiruchchu" ... chance illa, Not to forget some hilarious
scenes in the first half. He has written in a way that every1 understands the concept and movie will surely reach out to everyone. He will be missed.

> ARR : Songs though predominantly of the club music genre are already hits and have been picturized decently. However it is BGM where ARR has put in the extra effort after a long time. The usage of "Puthiya Manitha" is a prime example. Not to mention the Chitti, robot bgms. I woudnt say this ranks amongst his great works but decent enough and compliments the movie well. Arima Arima was roaring on Screen both the song and the BGM.

> SPB : You may all wonder about his mention here . But when SPB jusy utters "Endhira" during the chitti robot creation it gave me gooosebumps.

> "BABA" Black sheep Meeehhhaaaah : Wow , This is one thing that is sure to rock every1. Total Mass and goosebumps. !!!

> Climax : Absolutely Spectacular.

> Sun Pictures : Thanks to them for producing the movie and for their excellent marketing.

The efforts and money invested clearly show up on the screen.Its not just about the visuals, It has a nice plot too (a commercial Sci-fi :-) ). Surely worth every penny we pay to watch it. Watchable several times on big screen.

Overall , The movie is amazingly well made and a path well laid for directors dreaming of making sci-fi movies. Liked it to the core. Giving it 4 out of 5. Reducing 0.5 for the length (3hrs) and 0.5 for the draggy scenes that come after the interval till kilimanjaro song. Also Santhanam, Karunas were underused. But never mind with Chitti doing rounds in comedy.

Remember, this is the first of it sort , so cant be mistakes free, Watch it without himalayan expectations and u ll be completely swept away by Chitti's Aura at the end of it.

Its not just about the visuals, It has a nice plot (a commercial Sci-fi :-) ). Surely worth every penny we pay to watch it. Go for it.Watchable twice on big screen.

PS : Many claimed it is a remake of irobot , Bicentennial man. Some even said it is a remake of Kannada movie Hollywood .... To all of them, Please make such statements after watching the movie. No resemblance to any of the above said movies and Lightyears ahead in Quality. Its a pity that , movies like "Hollywood" claimed publicity with such comparisons :-D .
ROBOT is outright a Shankar -> Rajni -> Sujatha 's product. The only common point between these movies is Human Android robot !!!

Came out of the theatre with content, I was happy, My friend was happy so was every1 who just gave a standing ovation at the time of end credits :-). Drove bike back home happily planning for a second time show which should happen next weekend!!!

Came back really exhausted but definitely worth the exhaustion. Requesting to all of you to do your best against piracy. These sort of movies can be enjoyed only in theaters.

With the dust settled, Looking forward to my Working ways in office from Monday ;-) Had a great experience writing this.

Happy ROBOVALI; Get ready folks !! Could surely sensse Preponement of Deepavali this year by a month.

It isn't BLANK(y)ET..

Its half past THREE in the morning. In an hour or so, sun rays will come splitting the darkness. In this eastern part of the country, it becomes brighter early at 4 a.m.The Noisy Streets OF CALCUTTA will come to life sooner or later. Fighting all night long I am so tired, yet I have not defeated them! Who are they? Bastards .How do I get rid of them? Atleast let me Sleep now" I begged for mercy and shrunk into my wrinkled bed sheet and closed my eyes! Complete darkness now!

Not even the moonlight.” Thank God, they are gone".

"Wait...wait! Did u say moonlight?” I heard silent whispers.

The whispers continued “Those moonlit nights D-block terrace when you guys gazed at the sky and located pattern in the stars? The fun, the fights..."one by one they came and took over Me.” memories" memories

THE notorious five! Distinct tastes! Distinct Cgpa s! We had nothing in common, except that we belonged to PSG ECE, A dream come true college for everyone of us. Yet another thing in common! We were ready to pay any price to fulfill the dreams of a "College going GUY”. Bottom sip beer, Hearts in cigarette smoke, Movie before semester exams, Mass bunk, and of course a girlfriend to discuss novels, music, moon, rain etc.

If you need good things in life u should be ready to accept the bad things that come along. In my case it was the other way round. I went to borrow a cigarette and ended up finding a friend, A FRIEND FOR lifetime. I had my egos, we were in different sections, and he studied well. I have wondered how one can study well and smoke.Either I should give up the thought of smoking or lose my dignity. Both weighed the same for me and i stood hesitatingly. I pretended not to look at him. Suddenly someone's hand reached my shoulders. I turned back; it was the Resident tutor asking me to go back to my room. We say a bad word very fast that it sounds like the usual good evening to them, and they would reply "I know I know, now go to your room”. I greeted him few of those and walked back to my room. There sat the "smoke lender”. It s a thrill to smoke inside the hostel premises, what is more thrilling is doing it, sitting next to the resident tutors room. The first time he came slamming the door to find none, we disappeared, next a peep outside and after that he couldn’t sleep without our cigarette smoke. Addictive isn’t it?

The gorkha's whistle brought me back to a dark room; it was me and me alone. I had once experienced the same situation during college days. Semester exams keep every one busy with Library books, Xeroxes, and notes. I would seclude myself from the rest and go to inert mode to escape lectures from class jambavans asking me to study. Memorizing formulas or micro xeroxes? Hardwork or smart work. It jus takes 10 minutes to Xerox, but we were given 2x24x60 minutes to prepare.” An idle mind is a devil’s paradise”. Before i could fall prey to the Devil, The savior came in the form of "the chatterbox”. He started speaking that day and i started listening to him, he has not stopped yet. We were the first two ranks in our class from the last. We were on the Wanted list. Attendance lack chased us every single semester. Arrears began to tumble. It was not that easy to study for arrear exams, ESP when all your friends have gone for a jolly tour alias "Industrial Visit”. We studied all Greek and Japanese sitting and fighting it together.” A Friend in need is the friend indeed".

Yawn!!Yawn!!Dawn!!Dawn!!I could here footsteps, Bunch of morning walkers and joggers were into their business. They were no close to the "Athlete" I knew. He can run ten miles and still go to class. He is the one who cares about everybody, every insect. He is the one who brings us back to the hostel after the booze nights. The painting of the girl that he drew and never disclosed! She never knew, someone could draw her so accurately! Call it love or admiration. Everything was good about him, but something was imperfect, unacceptable, we sorted it out sitting in one of our rooms. From then, we had to carry him back to the hostel after drinking.” How can he be so sweet?"

Babies, I love them, only until they start crying. The shrill cry of the baby next door added to the miseries of my long Insomnious night. There was a "little man" among us. I had noticed him during my first year, just after a week, the college has begun. He had a "pattai" on his forehead, study material on one hand, book on the other. He walked four steps front, turned back, and turned the page, again four steps. He completed the Xerox before i could read the title of the chapter. If he can do it why can’t I? By morning, I successfully managed to get only the first Para mugged up. It took us a year and a half to meet again. I heard that the new representative of our rival class had sowed the seed for Interactions between guys and girls by introducing Dare and pair. I was curious to know who the fucker was. Their interaction would mean "doors shut" "no entry" for us to the girls next class. The rep was none other than our "Mr.studious".The journey to our friendship began with exchanging chicks' phone numbers. By the time we finished a U.G in our course, we also finished a P.G in "knowing girls’ mind" and I had arrears there too.

The evergreen days would never come back. I longed for something that is not going to repeat. There was not a drop left in my eye pool. The five was reduced down to one. I had to act as a fresher just stepping into the college, as if nothing has happened. I could feel the heat.

The whispers stopped "heat? The sun shone very bright now, I could feel the heat.Ding! Ding! Some one was at the door. I came out of the blanket, got up and opened the door. It was a whole new world, a world to explore, a world to conquer! ---RAJAN Dada AACHE???
